How to permanently delete your account and associated data

You can permanently delete your ShelfLog account and all associated data at any time, directly from inside the app. No email request or waiting period is required.

Steps to delete your account

Open the ShelfLog app and sign in
Go to Profile (top-right avatar on web, or the profile header on My Shelf on mobile)
Scroll to the Account section
Tap Delete my account
Confirm when prompted

Your account and data are erased immediately upon confirmation.

What gets deleted

The following data is permanently deleted from our database and cannot be recovered:

Your profile (name, email, username, phone, avatar)
Your books and shelf
Your loans (lent and borrowed) and loan history
Your borrow requests (sent and received)
Your wishlist and waitlist entries
Your friendships and friend requests
Your activity feed entries
Your authentication record (you will no longer be able to sign in)

What may be retained

Book ratings and reviews you submitted may be retained in anonymised form (no longer linked to you or your identity) so they remain useful to other readers. They cannot be traced back to you after deletion.

We may retain minimal records required by law (for example, anti-abuse logs), but these do not contain personally identifiable information.

Can't access the app?

If you are unable to sign in or use the app for any reason and need your account deleted, email support@myshelflog.com from the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and delete your account within 30 days.
